Using radar and camera data, the AEB system senses the potential for a collision with a pedestrian, car or cyclist ahead, and applies emergency braking to avoid or reduce the effects of a collision.

Advanced Smart Cruise Control uses radar to maintain a predetermined distance from the vehicle directly ahead, automatically slowing or accelerating your vehicle when appropriate. ASCC will require driver intervention if the vehicle in front is stationary for more than 3 seconds.

Due to the whisper-quiet electric motor in the Niro Full Electric, pedestrians may not be able to hear you. The VESS generates an engine sound so that the Niro can be heard while travelling at low speeds as well as beeps when reversing. System active at speeds below 28km per hr.

Offering up to 455km range (WLTP^) and fast-charging capabilities, the Niro is a major step in electric powertrain technology. The whisper-quiet permanent magnet synchronous motor boasts outstanding performance with 150kW of power and 395Nm of torque.

The power to go Full electric engine

Pressing and holding the left side steering wheel paddle while the vehicle is coasting will decelerate the vehicle. This can be used to bring the Niro EV to a complete stop by continuing to hold the paddle in.

Niro EV comes with a single speed transmission (reduction gear), delivering rotational force of the motor to the front wheels.

Regenerative braking helps to convert the kinetic energy when decelerating and braking into electrical energy to recharge the battery for even greater energy efficiency. Niro Full Electric is equipped with a Smart Regeneration System which controls the regenerative braking level automatically through the front radar to further improve energy efficiency.

The Niro Full Electric uses Type 2 (IEC 62196-2) charge plug for AC charging and CCS Type 2 plug for DC charging which can be found at most Australian public charging stations. Use DC charging for the fast charging (0-80%, 100kw - 54min.), AC charging (7.2kw - 9hrs 35min.) or the ICCB Trickle Charger.

With the Charge Management functionality of Niro, you can set the day and time of when to charge the battery as well as location-based charging options. The in-built navigation system also contains information on nearby charge stations so that you can easily find places to charge your Niro on the go. Navigation system available on Sport grade.

The charging cable connector can be set to auto unlock when charging is completed to allow others to charge their vehicles. It may also be set to remain locked after charging has completed if you using your own charge cable (sold separately) in a public charging station.

BSD uses sensors to monitor the side and rear of the vehicle and warns the driver of other vehicles in the blind spots to make changing lanes safer and easier. Available on Sport grade.

When reversing out of a parking spot or driveway, this system will warn you if any incoming traffic in either direction is detected behind the vehicle. Available on Sport grade.

Enhanced driver assistance Rear Cross Traffic Alert*

LKA alerts the driver when it detects that the vehicle is about the deviate from the traffic lane without the use of indicators. It may also automatically assist the vehicle to help the driver stay within the lane of travel.
